How to convert a portable external hard disk into an internal hard disk (Western Digital 500GB)

I have a Western Digital My Book Essential 500GB USB 2.0 3.5" External Hard Drive and it is only used as storage device for my installers in my internet cafe. I have them in a portable hard disk so that it would be easy to install them in many computers. I am not installing that frequent anymore and the portable hard disk is just sitting pretty inside the box. The time I planned to build an Intel Quad Core PC, I decided not to buy a new hard drive and just use the portable hard drive instead. The WD My Book contains 500GB of space, which is enough for me, and it runs at 7200rpm with 16MB cache. It is just on SATA II but the capacity and cache will not bottleneck my quad core built. This hard disk would be great for my build and an extra saving for me. How could you convert it into an internal drive? If you have a My Book or a portable external hard disk and you are not using it that much, you can actually convert it to an internal disk and boost your desktop stora...

How to fix notebook hard disk error (Neo Basic B3233)

Yesterday, my NEO Basic B3233 notebook crashed down and it would not boot anymore. My first diagnosis is overheating or it is just the brownout, which causes some electrical surges on the computer. I rested it for a while but when I boot it again, it says DISK ERROR. I would like to explore more on the causes of the error but I guess I do not have enough time for it. So, I'd better be starting my fix ASAP. Since it is a Hard Disk error, the problem is of course the hard disk and not the hardware, because it is not too old. My guess is the system inside it. Windows 7 might encounter an error that it is in tack anymore. Therefore, my best fix would be reformatting the hard disk and have a clean OS installation. I cannot use Windows 7 hard disk repair or error checking this time because it will not boot. The computer is useless this time so I need to remove the hard disk. How to remove a notebook hard drive? It is usually found under your notebook and it has screws ...

How to install Lubuntu (Linux OS) to my old HP Pavilion 780d

I have an old HP Pavilion 780d in my house given by friend who stopped using it because as he said: "It is too slow and the deadly blue screen flashes most of the time." While HP Pavilion computers have elegant casing designs, the inside of this computer is not really getting any younger. While you might fall in love with the CD-Writer and DVD-ROM units in its front panel, but this computer is too old that it has a no built-in video output (no VGA socket) motherboard. It could not handle the latest games, browsers, and office works of today looking on its specs but it could still be used as a personal computer. Considering the Pentium 4 inside it, I can still type documents in it, browse the internet with a more efficient browser version, download torrents, and even watch videos. Here's the actual specs of HP Pavilion 780d (the version I have): ASUS P4S333-M motherboard (no built-in video output) Intel Pentium 4 processor (1.4 Ghz) AGP 4x graphics card ...
