How to build a 4-core Computer for your blogging wife

My wife blogs, shares at Facebook and Twitter, watch TV shows and movies, and play games. With all those activities, it is clear that she needs a dedicated computer and I want to give her that as a gift from a loving husband. She is just using the laptop and I guess it is the right time for year to enjoy a powerful computer just like me. Based on the motherboard that I already have, the computer will be a 4-core Intel Core 2 Quad system. I have the ASUS P5G41-T M LX3 board and because of that, these are the parts of the build: Processor Since the board has up to 1333MHz FSB, I choose the Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q9550 because it has 12M L2 Cache and runs at 2.83 GHz. Instead of buying a faster model, I will just overclock this CPU up to 3.1 or 3.2 GHz. The four cores of this CPU will easily handle my wife's gaming as well. Motherboard The ASUS P5G41-T M LX3 is an entry-level DDR3 board, which makes it a great budget board for a DDR3 and USB 3.0 build.

How to build a budget six-core gaming computer

Last Christmas (this is not the song) I build my 6-core computer as a gift to myself. I was on budget and I am on a city that has not that much to offer when it comes to the latest computer hardware, so my build may seem to be not the best for a six-core budget gaming build. However, if you have the same situation like me, this guide might help you. By the way, I enjoyed this build in real-life work and gaming, so I still have the confidence to share it. Great PCs are from great parts built to work as one. Let us look on the parts of my build: Processor I started with the processor because my target is building a 6-core computer. Because I am in budget, I will not dream of the 3rd generation i7s or Xeons. The best choice is a Phenom II X6 processor from AMD, which is much cheaper and powerful. The shop handed me the 1075T, which runs at 3.00 GHz at stock speed and 3.5 GHz at Turbo. I do not really have much choice in the shop and decided to overclock this CPU to 3.6 u

How to enjoy the latest update from Tumblr this 2013

I have been using Tumblr for many years. Though I am really a Blogger fan, I need to put one of my blogs at Tumblr because of the Blogger Domain Verification system. Though I like the idea that domains hosted by a free hosting should be verified, I hate the way Blogger do it because many hosting sites do not actually support it. Godaddy supports this verification process but 1and1 does not. The verification code is just too long for 1and1’s system. Therefore, I resorted to put my domain to Tumblr, which is much easier. I will not discuss how will you do this in this article, but may discuss more about domain verification and domain hosting later. Yes, it was clear that Tumblr is not really my first choice when it comes to blogging. However, I still believe it is a good place to host your images and mini-posts. Because one of my blog is at Tumblr, I still enjoyed writing articles on it. However, of course, I wish Tumblr should do changes on their platform. Fortunately, this January

How to bring back the Start Button in Windows 8

Most people in the world use Windows whether at work, at school, or at home - and I am one of them. While I love working with other operating systems such as the Mac OS X or Linux, Windows is just the big boy of them all giving me lots of options when it comes to using needed applications. Windows 7 was upgraded to Windows 8, the new operating system this 2013, which is primarily built for tablets, especially the touch screen ones. I have been working with Windows XP and many years with Windows 7. I am used to it. However, Windows 8 gives a new environment that somewhat disturbs my working routine. I do not really have the choice but still to upgrade for security and stability reasons. It locks your screen with wallpaper that you need to click or snap before entering to the log-on screen. You need to enter your Microsoft Account before finally meeting the Metro GUI. The desktop is now just an application included in this OS, it is not the control center anymore, and it is just an

How to edit Layout in the Blogger’s New Interface

The Layout is the blueprint of your blog’s appearance. Blogger layouts appear according to the template you are using by default. You can edit your blog layout and change the contents and appearance of your blog header, body, footer, and sidebar as they appear on the internet browser. Editing your blog layout is adding, editing, removing, or positioning a Gadget. A Gadget is a layout building block where you can choose from lots of different useful options such as: blog stats, search box, feed and many more. Normally, if you are using one of Blogger’s templates, you can see the following pre-installed gadgets: favicon, naval, header, blog posts, blog archive, and attribution. How to add a gadget: Go to Layout menu in the left side of the New Blogger Interface. You need to choose where you want to add a gadget. It might be in the header, body, sidebars, or footer part. How to convert notebook hard disk into a desktop hard disk (Toshiba)

A notebook hard disk is just a normal hard disk with just a smaller size. Most notebook hard disk today uses SATA drives, making them more useable as a desktop hard disk too. Since they are the same, you can get your extra or unused notebook hard disk out from your notebook by unscrewing the back cover. It has usually only one screw and you just need to slide it out from the notebook's back. After I removed mine, I see a Toshiba SATA drive out there. I will replace it with a newer one and will try to use the old one as a backup storage for my desktop. CONNECT IT TO THE COMPUTER JUST LIKE ANY OTHER DRIVES Since it is SATA, I just need an extra SATA cable and a SATA power connector. Be sure to turn off your computer while connecting it to your motherboard. If you cannot find a proper place for the small drive, you can just screw one hole of it to any support metal that you can find. Just make sure the cables are firmly connected and the drive is stationary.

Modifying Lian Li PC-A03 computer case

I have been modifying computer cases for a while now and this Lian Li PC-A03 is the smallest one that I worked with. I've got this Lian Li from a friend after selling it in a very low price. This is a second-hand case and you can't see this case on Lian Li's website anymore because it is one of their old products. It is old and used but it is still very valuable to me because it is my first time to hold a Lian Li. I hold it, touch it, feel it, and agree to everyone that says Lian Li is the best computer case manufacturer that boasts to their trademark - the all-aluminum build. When it comes to quality and strength, the aluminum sheets will define everything. This also makes their cases lighter and easy to carry, though this case has no handles on it. Though it is small, you can do many things to it. The side panels of this case are so thin and light make cutting easier. It belongs to the mini-tower category. What is difficult with this case is the fan mounts. By defaul
