Cherry Mobile Thunder 2.0 - Full Specs, Price in the Philippines

This is the second version of the Thunder-model Android phone by Cherry Mobile. From a 4.5” display to a wide 5.0” FWVGA Capacitive Display, you can now watch videos, play games, and use applications in a wider screen.

From a flat 1.0 Ghz speed to a 1.2Ghz Quadcore MediaTek MT6589 Processor, you can now multi-task with a bigger headroom. If you want to run heavy and multiple applications at the same, this Android phone will make your work easier. Moreover, the PowerVR SGX 544 GPU Samsung Exynos will handle the graphics for your multimedia or even gaming.

This phone also uses Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as its operating system. This is the latest Android version so far and reviewed to produce better performance and a cleaner look. This phone is just right for the Jelly Bean upgrade.

With the Dual SIM/Dual Standby technology, you can now use two networks at the same time without feeling the barriers between them and do multiple transactions over two networks on the go.

This phone supports lots of multimedia formats, MP3, and Games. When it comes to data connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi, GPRS, EDGE, WAP, MMS, Bluetooth, and USB Port for PC connectivity. From the 5MP camera, it has an 8MP for higher resolution results. When the phone is running, the 512 MB RAM handles the job and the 4GB internal handles the storage. You can however upgrade to a Micro SD with up to 32 GB capacity.

We do not have the price for this phone yet but we are guessing that this would be in the 5,000 bracket. The Cherry Mobile Festival 2013 promo priced the Thunder version 1 to 4,499 pesos from 4,999 pesos. We might expect that the price of the version 2 will be just close to this.

We are not sure if this phone is already available to the provincial branches but we will update this post and will give you a list of stores where you can purchase this budget but cool Android phone.

Review: This is another affordable Cherry Mobile android phone. Specs-wise and size-wise, this phone is pretty much the best savings for you. It is like having a Google Nexus android phone with half the price. However, we have heard feedbacks about the quality of Cherry Mobile Phones especially when they fall or accidentally mishandled. If you want to buy this phone, just make sure you can handle things careful enough. If you can, you will enjoy this high-tech phone.
